Aspirations For Year 2

My aspirations for the second year of the course is to refine my writing style and ability and increasing the rate i write to at least once a week. If I’m honest the more i progress into the world of journalism the more I see my future outside of typical journalism circles and away from writing. Podcasts, new media and new organisations intrigue me more as i see them as the future. I’d be happy if i was producing more than 1 pod a week instead of writing constantly. While I understand the importance of writing i also want to refine my interview techniques and be confident in making new contacts.

However, one ”traditional” role that intrigues me is a press officer so I’d like to explore that more in year 2.

my grand goal is for the 2 Baggies 1 Lightbulb Podcast to have an aspect of monetisation. While i don’t care about the money, it means i can carve my own path in the channels I wish and fund my own journey in improving as a journalist.

I don’t want to be just another writer, if I’m going to become a journalist i want to make something, be a part of something much bigger than just words on a page.
