Bury captain and owner clash on talkSPORT

Bury captain Stephen Dawson and owner Steve Dale clashed live on talkSPORT over the clubs financial problems.

Speaking to Jim White, Dawson said: “I’m on the verge of losing everything”, as a result of not being paid.

Dawson told the host of "constant lies" by the owner and demanded he "leave the club, otherwise the club is no more."

Dale insisted that his skipper had been paid 50% of his wages by the Professional Footballers Association, as agreed in accordance to a Company Voluntary Agreement. Dale claims he has agreed to repay the PFA.

The owner of 8 months, repeatedly insisted Dawson had been paid.

The club remains in financial troubles with the threat of liquidation and potential EFL expulsion looming larger by the day.
