Stourbridge local Harry Sykes has made the decision to quit professional E-Sports. He cited his reason for leaving: “I got bored, I was no longer enjoying it as much as I used to.”

Sykes leaves The teams: Viperio and Enclave. The professional League of Legends teams backed by the two teams are now without a key player heading into the new spring season.

He defended his choice “it sounds trivial saying I’m no longer enjoying playing games but it’s true, I was no longer playing for fun and what used to be an amazing hobby was now my job.

“Games are meant to be fun, played with friends and I’m now returning to that, I wish Viperio and Enclave all the best.”

Sykes had been playing League of Legends professionally for 7 years and been earning his living by taking part in the UK LC.

E-Sports is a rapidly growing Industry and far more goes on behind closed doors than most may think. Because of this Harry Sykes isn’t the first and won’t be the last to walk away from professional gaming.
