Tempers flared in dramatic penalties cup win.

5 were sent off in an early cup clash between Dudley Rangers United FC and CTS FC.


The Rangers narrowly made it through to the third round of the Lester Charity Cup after beating CTS on penalties.

The games regulation time finished 2-2 and headed to penalties after three Rangers players and two CTS players had been shown red.


Dudley Rangers played 22 minutes of the game with 8 men. The players left the pitch at 1-0 and the 8 men in red managed to fight back to 2-2 having gone 2-1 down.


The Reds we’re perfect from the spot and sealed there place in the next round.


Club founder and current player, Sam Collier, said after the game: “The boys showed real fight to stay in the game… they stuck together as a team, grafted and showed the character to win on penalties without missing”.


Goalkeeper Joe Sidaway, who scored in the game from his own box also scored a penalty and saved two, was proud after the game: “what a shift these boys have put in, happy to keep us in it and help out in the shootout”.


Dudley Rangers United will face either Hagley United OR Shere Wolverhampton Seniors in the third round.
