Tensions boil over within England Squad

Raheem Sterling has been sent home from the England Squad after an altercation between himself and Liverpool‘s Joe Gomez. The Manchester City star was reported to have grabbed Gomez by the throat in what he described on Twitter as a “5-10 second thing”.

The altercation at St. Georges Park follows a confrontation between the two at the weekend during the clash between both players domestic clubs at Anfield.

Sterling has taken to social media to ensure that all tension is now finished: “both Joe and I have had words and figured things out and moved on.”

England are in a fortunate position to be able to send home their best player as they only need two more points from the next two games against Montenegro and Kosovo, to secure Euro 2020 qualification.
